2015 Hamacher Pinot Noir
TASTING NOTES
Huge perfume even after a full day of sitting out. Explosive scents of floral cherry blossom, anise, soft toffee, ripe plums, and earthy, damp tobacco fill the nose. The first sip creates a fresh, lively, focused mouthfeel caused by young, sharp tannins. Hints of many complex flavors follow that are long and juicy including chocolate, black tea, fresh cherries, plums, apricots, and cedar.
VINTAGE NOTES
The 2015 vintage started early after a mild, wet winter. It was followed by a dry and warm summer that culminated in the start of picking in late August. The boom soon dropped and we experienced the coldest September on record. This forced picking to slow, drawing harvest out until early October.
